The mayor of Tourism and Crafts, Gelen Delgado, explained that today, September 12, resumes the course of the process of elaboration of ceramic art in the Addictive Behaviors Unit of Talavera to complete the training of clay painting that began last September 5 within the activities of CeramiTUR.
This concludes the pieces that were molded in clay in the 1st session, closing the cycle of creation of ceramics as a seal of identity of Talavera in the facilities of the UCA in the Virgen del Prado hospital, specialized in accompanying people with mental health problems and forming part of its therapeutic and social reintegration program.
These activities are part of the CeramiTUR program, promoted by the Spanish Association of Cities of Ceramics and coordinated locally by the City Council of Talavera de la Reina, through the Department of Crafts and Tourism, which aims to turn the ceramic heritage into a lively, structured and accessible tourist experience, encouraging citizen participation and pride in Talavera ceramics.
CERAMITUR, is funded through the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – Next Generation EU, established by Council Regulation (EU) 2020/2094 of December 14, 2020.
