The mayor of Tourism and Crafts, Gelen Delgado has reported that next Friday, August 22, Talavera de la Reina will live a day devoted entirely to ceramics within the CeramiTUR project, with three activities planned for different audiences.

The morning will begin with a ceramic painting workshop at Artesanía Talaverana, aimed at large families in the city, who will be able to learn about traditional decorative techniques and actively participate in the creation of their own pieces.

In the afternoon, it will be the turn of a pottery workshop designed for tourism professionals in Talavera, who will have the opportunity to learn how to work with clay and experience pottery from the inside, with the aim of transmitting this experience in a direct and enriching way to visitors and travelers.

The day will conclude at 22:00 hours with a night route through the ceramic murals of the city. A guided tour that will allow to rediscover the urban heritage of Talavera under a new light and highlight its emblematic decorations.

These activities are part of the CeramiTUR program, promoted by the Spanish Association of Cities of Ceramics and coordinated locally by the City Council of Talavera de la Reina, through the Department of Crafts and Tourism, which aims to turn the ceramic heritage into a lively, accessible and participatory tourist experience.

CERAMITUR, is funded through the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – Next Generation EU, established by Council Regulation (EU) 2020/2094 of December 14, 2020.
