The mayor of Crafts and Tourism, Gelen Delgado, has advanced that today, Monday, August 25, continue the activities scheduled in Ceramitur with a ceramic painting workshop with children and adolescents hosted in sheltered facilities.

This action is part of the activities offered to the different entities, associations and resources that fight against the inequalities of the most disadvantaged social groups, in Ceramitur’s idea of approaching the inclusion and participation of Talavera’s society.

The activity will take place in a ceramic workshop that will host these participants to teach them the techniques of decoration and promote the talaverana identity sign, being able to give color to a piece of craftsmanship and after a few days when the firing process is finished, it will be given to them as a souvenir.

These activities are part of the CeramiTUR program, promoted by the Spanish Association of Cities of Ceramics and coordinated locally by the City Council of Talavera de la Reina, through the Department of Crafts and Tourism, which aims to turn the ceramic heritage into a lively, structured and accessible tourist experience, encouraging citizen participation and pride in Talavera ceramics.

CERAMITUR, is funded through the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – Next Generation EU, established by Council Regulation (EU) 2020/2094 of December 14, 2020.
