The mayor of Tourism and Crafts, Gelen Delgado, has participated in the day held last Saturday September 6 within the CeramiTUR program that combined craft practice and cultural tour, leaving a very positive impression among all attendees, including invited members of the Spanish Federation of Large Families of Madrid (FEDMA).
The morning began at Artesanía Talaverana, where participants could choose between modeling their own clay piece or painting a decorative tile. This double proposal generated great enthusiasm and allowed each attendee to experiment with different techniques, discovering the difficulty of the craft and the satisfaction of creating with their own hands.
In the afternoon, the activity continued with a visit to the Ruiz de Luna Museum, where visitors learned about the history and evolution of ceramics in Talavera, and ended with a tour of the most representative ceramic murals in the city, which were especially valued as an example of living art in the urban space.
Participants, both local and from Madrid, highlighted the combination of practical learning and cultural knowledge, pointing out that this type of proposal not only transmits the heritage value of ceramics, but also makes it close, attractive and accessible.
The CeramiTUR program is promoted by the Spanish Association of Ceramic Cities and coordinated at the local level by the City Council of Talavera de la Reina, through the Department of Tourism and Crafts, with funding from the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – Next Generation EU, under Council Regulation (EU) 2020/2094.
