The mayor of Tourism and Crafts, Gelen Delgado, accompanied by the Disability, Julia Gonzalez and Social Affairs, Pepa Blázquez has attended the pottery workshop for people with cerebral palsy, held on September 11, within the activities planned in CeramiTUR and was held at the facilities of APACE, which has been a success.

This workshop with the participation of about 30 users, allowed attendees to explore their creativity through clay modeling, overcoming physical barriers and reaching personal achievements that went beyond the artistic.

The event, which took place at the APACE facilities, focused on offering participants a unique sensory and emotional experience. Under the supervision of a team of Timoneda Brothers as representatives of our ceramic technique and occupational therapists, users were guided through the process of molding and shaping ceramic pieces, an activity that promotes motor stimulation, concentration and self-esteem.

Delgado emphasized that “it has been incredible to see how the participants, some of whom had never touched clay before, have managed to create wonderful and expressive pieces. This workshop has shown that art has no limits and that everyone, regardless of circumstances, can connect with their creativity”.

These activities are part of the CeramiTUR program, promoted by the Spanish Association of Cities of Ceramics and coordinated locally by the City Council of Talavera de la Reina, through the Department of Crafts and Tourism, which aims to turn the ceramic heritage into a unique living experience, structured and accessible, encouraging citizen participation and pride in Talavera ceramics.

CERAMITUR, is funded through the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – Next Generation EU, established by Council Regulation (EU) 2020/2094 of December 14, 2020.
