The mayor of Tourism and Crafts, Gelen Delgado, has advanced that today, Friday, September 12, CeramiTUR held in Vodre Ceramics the second part of the training workshop started last September 2, in which participants made pieces in clay using both lathe techniques and manual modeling.

After the drying and firing time required for the pieces, attendees will be reunited with their creations to decorate and complete them, thus experiencing a complete artisanal process that ranges from modeling to the final painting phase. Among the works that will be exhibited are a piece made on a lathe and a traditional Mexican whistle, an example of the cultural fusion that characterizes Vodre’s work.

The host artisan will share with the participants his knowledge and techniques, the result of a trajectory that combines Spanish ceramic tradition with influences from Mexican craftsmanship, thus offering a practical, creative and intercultural experience.

This course aims to bring participants closer not only to the local heritage, but also to new ways of understanding ceramics as a common artistic and cultural language.

The CeramiTUR program is promoted by the Spanish Association of Ceramic Cities and coordinated at the local level by the City Council of Talavera de la Reina, through the Department of Tourism and Crafts, with funding from the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – Next Generation EU, under Council Regulation (EU) 2020/2094.
