The councilors of Crafts and Tourism, Gelen Delgado; Accessibility and Disability, Julia González; and Education, Pepa Blázquez, have attended a new day of CeramiTUR marked by inclusion, accessibility and culture with the participation of the Association “Con Otro Sentido” in a guided tour of the main ceramic and heritage sites of Talavera, thanks to the use of the Joëlette chair, an adapted device that allows people with reduced mobility to enjoy tourist routes in urban environments.
The activity, organized by CeramiTUR and Con Otro Sentido, was supported by volunteers from this specialized organization, who made it possible for all participants to live an enriching experience, overcoming architectural barriers and enjoying Talavera’s heritage on equal terms.
The Joëlette chair, designed for transporting people with reduced mobility on non-accessible routes, was key to making this activity possible. Its use also promotes teamwork and community involvement, as it requires the active participation of companions and volunteers.
The organization stressed the importance of continuing to promote initiatives that encourage inclusive tourism and the full participation of people with disabilities in the cultural and social life of the city.
With this initiative, CeramiTUR reinforces its commitment to disseminate the ceramic heritage through new digital formats, approaching wider audiences and ensuring its national and international projection.
The CeramiTUR program is promoted by the Spanish Association of Ceramic Cities and coordinated by the City Council of Talavera de la Reina, through the Department of Tourism and Crafts, with funding from the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – Next Generation EU, under Council Regulation (EU) 2020/2094.
