There are many colourful ballets such as The Sleeping Beauty, Carmen or Don Quixote; however, when we think of ballet, the image that comes to mind for most of us is that of the delicate white swans — fragile and elegant.

We know that the libretto for Swan Lake was written under the direction of the Imperial Theatres of Moscow. Its authors were Helzer, a dancer and teacher, and Bergichev, a playwright and manager of the Imperial Theatres.
