The mayor of Crafts and Tourism, Gelen Delgado, along with the agents involved in the Ceramitur project have received professionals from the Association of Official Tourist Guides of Castilla-La Mancha (APIT CLM) who participated in the first workshop of the CeramiTUR project in Talavera de la Reina, which was held on Monday in Artesanía Talaverana and concluded with a very positive assessment by its participants.
The session, focused on ceramic painting, allowed the tour guides to learn first-hand about traditional techniques and experience the creative process of one of the city’s most representative trades. The workshop took place in a dynamic, participatory and very enriching environment, where the interaction between artisans and tourism professionals was constant.
Attendees highlighted the didactic quality of the activity, as well as the opportunity to experience ceramics from the inside, and took advantage of the session to take notes and gather practical information in order to incorporate this experience into their routes.
This workshop marks the beginning of a calendar of activities within the CeramiTUR program, promoted by the Spanish Association of Cities of Ceramics and coordinated locally by the City Council of Talavera de la Reina from the Department of Crafts and Tourism, with the aim of turning the ceramic heritage into a living, structured and accessible tourist experience.
First Anniversary of the designation of Talavera’s Ceramics
as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
