The mayor of Crafts and Tourism, Gelen Delgado, stressed that CeramiTUR activities held in our city on 22 and 23 August have had a great reception and very favorable assessment by the participants, reinforcing the ceramics as a tourist and cultural experience in the city.

On August 22, Talavera celebrated a full day with two proposals:

-Ceramic painting workshop in the morning at Artesanía Talaverana, aimed at large families, where in this case they were able to learn and practice traditional decorative techniques.

-Pottery workshop in the afternoon at the Santos Timoneda Ceramics Factory, aimed at tourism professionals, who experienced the clay process up close to incorporate it into their routes and guided tours.

On August 23, the social inclusion activities began with a ceramic painting workshop for young people at risk of exclusion, which brought participants closer to artisan work and its cultural value.

These activities are part of the CeramiTUR program, promoted by the Spanish Association of Cities of Ceramics and coordinated locally by the City Council of Talavera de la Reina, through the Department of Crafts and Tourism, with the aim of turning the ceramic heritage into a lively, structured and accessible tourist experience.

CERAMITUR is funded through the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – Next Generation EU, established by Council Regulation (EU) 2020/2094 of December 14, 2020.
