The mayor of Crafts and Tourism, Gelen Delgado, has advanced that today, Tuesday, August 26, the Mother of Hope Foundation will host a new workshop CeramiTUR program, aimed at its users. The session will consist of a practical course of clay and ceramic painting, taught with the collaboration of VODRE, with the aim of offering participants a creative and educational experience linked to the craft tradition of Talavera.
CeramiTUR offers new experiences for people with disabilities, bringing them closer to one of the most important signs of identity of the city. During the day, attendees will be able to model their own pieces and then decorate them, discovering each phase of the traditional ceramic process and developing their manual and artistic skills. This initiative seeks to promote integration, self-esteem and active participation of the participants.
The workshop is part of the CeramiTUR program, promoted by the Spanish Association of Cities of Ceramics and coordinated locally by the City Council of Talavera de la Reina, through the Department of Crafts and Tourism. The project is funded by the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – Next Generation EU, established by Council Regulation (EU) 2020/2094.
With this activity, CeramiTUR continues to reinforce its commitment to social inclusion and the transmission of ceramic heritage, offering workshops adapted to different groups and facilitating that everyone can experience first-hand the cultural and human value of Talavera ceramics.
