The mayor of Tourism and Crafts, Gelen Delgado, has accompanied the participants of the ALPADIF inclusive summer camp in the first pottery training workshop for people with disabilities, as part of the activities of CeramiTUR.

In this way, the activities that have been carried out since the beginning of this Tourism Experiences project, in which the aim is to share ceramics and raise a step in the knowledge of this sector, pushing for the inclusion of those groups that may feel more disadvantaged, continue.

This first training workshop focused on pottery and in a second session, painting and decoration will be addressed, thus forming a craft course designed to complete the entire production process of our most emblematic brand.

The participants have enjoyed a morning with one of our ceramists who has brought his workshop to the facilities of this entity, allowing about 20 participants to learn and develop some of the production techniques.

These activities are part of the CeramiTUR program, promoted by the Spanish Association of Cities of Ceramics and coordinated locally by the City Council of Talavera de la Reina, through the Department of Crafts and Tourism, which aims to turn the ceramic heritage into a lively, structured and accessible tourist experience, encouraging citizen participation and pride in Talavera ceramics.

CERAMITUR, is funded through the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – Next Generation EU, established by Council Regulation (EU) 2020/2094 of December 14, 2020.
