CeramiTUR through the Department of Crafts and Tourism, headed by Gelen Delgado, will offer tomorrow, Saturday, September 6 in Talavera de la Reina, a special day that combines practical experience and cultural discovery, with the participation of members of the Spanish Federation of Large Families of Madrid (FEDMA) as prominent attendees.
The day will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Artesanía Talaverana, where attendees will be able to choose between making a clay piece or painting a tile, with the accompaniment of local ceramists. This double proposal will allow each participant to experience firsthand the creative process of ceramics, either from the modeling or from the decoration, reinforcing the link with one of the most recognized craft traditions of the city.
In the afternoon, the activity will continue with a guided visit to the Ruiz de Luna Museum, a benchmark in the preservation and dissemination of Talavera’s ceramic heritage. Afterwards, some of the most representative ceramic murals of the city, authentic emblems of Talavera’s urban art, will be visited.
With this combination of practical workshop and cultural route, CeramiTUR seeks to show the richness and diversity of Talavera ceramics, bringing it closer to visitors and groups that contribute to its dissemination and recognition outside the city.
The CeramiTUR program is promoted by the Spanish Association of Ceramic Cities and coordinated by the City Council of Talavera de la Reina, through the Department of Tourism and Crafts, with funding from the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – Next Generation EU, under Council Regulation (EU) 2020/2094.
