Talavera prepares to host the Warhammer 40K GT Talavera 2025 World Warhammer 40K Championship

The president of the Foundation Talavera Ferial, Gerardo Sanchez, announced that the facilities of Talavera Ferial will again host the celebration of the World Warhammer 40 K GT Talavera 2025, during October 31 and 1 and 2 November, and will feature the participation of 102 teams and more than 600 players.

This was reported this Thursday at a press conference, accompanied by the organizer of the event, Carlos Martin, where he stressed that “it is a pride that the facilities of Talavera Ferial have become the host of such an important event, within the international panorama of the world of Warhammer, Talavera will be filled for three days of hundreds of players of strategy games from several dozen countries”.

“We have reached a new level, with more international representatives, more coverage, a much more ambitious production in which we want the city of Talavera to continue representing quality, hospitality and spectacle within the Warhammer calendar,” he stressed.

The schedule will be Friday from 3:00 pm to 10:45 pm, Saturday from 9:30 am to 8:00 pm, and Sunday from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.

During this event, there will be a charity market, a Middle Earth tournament, a historical recreation of the Battle of Talavera, with more than 40 miniatures, different exhibitions, painting talks, commercial stands, demonstrations, and a toy library for children from 4 to 10 years old, among other activities.

It should be noted that this World Cup has been held since 2006 in different countries such as Poland, Italy, Germany, Serbia or a few years ago in Salamanca. On this occasion, the World Cup hosted by Talavera “competed with candidates in Greece (Athens), Austria or Serbia”, and from the organization have estimated an expenditure per player of about 500 euros, and an economic impact on the city close to 500,000 euros.

In addition to the tournament, during these three days there will be different additional activities: For the first time in Spain, the official stand of Games Workshop events and its staff will visit Talavera with a lot of exclusive material, Cosplayers exhibition, set in the universe of Warhammer 40,000 and other science fiction and fantasy, a Kill Team tournament, a gymkhana of raffles, restaurant and bar area, amibichos stand, a protector that has found a home for hundreds of animals.

During the event they will have material that they make (leashes, t-shirts, key chains, dog coats) with which they finance their activities. they will also have a pet food bank, collecting cans, feed, etcetera.

In addition, there will be a Model 34 booth, White Weasel Open Classroom: White Weasel staff will move their painting studio to answer questions, teach painting techniques, tips and tricks and much more.

Finally, on Sunday, a chess tournament organized by Eborajedrez-Aqualia will be held.

In addition to the economic component, the event represents a strategic bet for the positioning of Talavera de la Reina in the international field of strategy games, “a booming sector with a very committed public”.

To conclude, Sanchez thanked “the work of the organizers, collaborating institutions, sponsors and, especially, the players who have chosen Talavera to enjoy this experience”, while celebrating the incorporation of the Diputación de Toledo in the sponsorship and collaboration in this event.
