New self-cleaning public toilets

The municipal government is installing five self-cleaning public toilets at strategic locations across Talavera de la Reina to provide modern, safe and accessible public services.

 

What has been installed

  • 5 mixed-use and fully accessible cabins (PRM).
  • Automatic self-cleaning and disinfection after each use (toilet bowl, seat and floor).
  • LED lighting with exterior status indicator.
  • Vandal-resistant and stainless materials.
  • Automated door with remote control.
  • Ventilation and heating with thermostat.
  • Voice guidance system for people with visual impairments.
  • Fully equipped interior: shatterproof mirror, baby changing table, soap dispenser, hand dryer and support bars.

  • Installed in high-traffic and high-use areas to strengthen the public service network:
  • Paseo Gregorio de los Ríos.
  • Cordel de Merinas Park.
  • Surroundings of Parque / Glorieta de los Leones.
  • Joaquín Benito de Lucas Park.
  • Francisco Aguirre Park (La Piedad area).

 

Sustainability and efficient management

  • Reduced water and energy consumption thanks to automatic cleaning cycles and control technology.
  • Lower use of chemical products, optimising maintenance.
  • Enhanced hygiene, safety and universal accessibility throughout the day.
