New planters with Talavera ceramics

The City Council of Talavera de la Reina has installed 30 concrete planters with embedded ceramics in strategic locations—especially along Salvador Allende Avenue and Toledo Avenue—to improve the urban landscape and highlight traditional Talavera ceramics.

What has been installed

  • 30 white concrete planters with a modern design and traditional ceramic inlays.
  • 26 truncated spherical models (flat base with decorative ceramic ring).
  • 4 bench-shaped planters with a central planting area (vegetation + seating).
  • Planting volume: between 1,000 and 2,000 liters.
  • Maximum weight: up to 1,800 kg to ensure stability and safety.

Where

  • Priority has been given to high-traffic avenues, pedestrian areas and tourist zones: Salvador Allende and Toledo Avenues, with extensions to other areas of the municipality.

Benefits

  • Beautification of public spaces and reinforcement of Talavera’s ceramic identity.
  • More green areas and greater comfort for residents and visitors.
  • Contribution to a more liveable, welcoming and sustainable city.

Talavera de la Reina combines tradition, design and sustainability through these new planters, turning its streets into a living showcase of local culture and making the urban stroll even more enjoyable.
